Areas you can rent an apartment if you study at the University of Cincinnati

The University Of Cincinnati is accessible from almost anywhere in the city as it is connected with the I-75 and I-71. That said, it is the traffic flow that can affect your commute at certain times of the day. If you go to the University of Cincinnati and choose to live off-campus, here is a list of the five best neighborhoods to rent.

Downtown

Clifton is sometimes called uptown. The Vine street crosses downtown Cincinnati and runs directly to the edge of the UC campus. Most places in Cincinnati are less than a 10-minute drive from the university.

The advantage of the downtown is that all city buses depart from here, so there is a lot of flexibility in public transport. On average, it only takes one bus and around twenty minutes to get to UC from downtown.

Over the Rhine

North of downtown is a small but modern neighborhood called Over the Rhine. It offers many restaurants, bars, and nightlife, as well as very short trips to campus. Prices may be higher, but with a roommate, it should still be affordable.

Over the Rhine offers a five to seven-minute drive to campus with only 12 to 14 minutes by public transportation.

Clifton

Clifton is one of the most popular places for people looking for apartments near UC. The university sits is at the border of Clifton, making it a natural choice. Accommodation in Clifton can fill up quickly, but this is the best option if you can find a place to stay there. You can walk or bike to the campus, drive, and is a short bus ride from the farthest parts of Clifton.

Walnut Hills

East of the University of Cincinnati is Walnut Hills. It is an emerging business district and offers a short 15-minute public transportation to and from campus. It is only a ten-minute bike ride from Walnut Hills to the University of Cincinnati. If you have a car, it will only take around five minutes to get to campus.

Avondale

Among all of the other neighborhoods that have been listed here, Avondale and North Avondale are the most pocket-friendly, especially for students. Both neighborhoods are north of the UC campus. On average, North Avondale takes an eight-minute drive to campus.

Public transportation is a little longer half an hour on average and it is difficult to ride a bike 3 miles one way and elevation. However, if you are looking for an affordable off-campus experience and have a car, Avondale or North Avondale may be the best option for you.
